Kansas City Startup Weekend 1 Week Away

Apr 16, 2009 I Entrepreneurship, Startup Weekend, travel.

I can’t believe it. After Kansas City Startup Weekend (my fourth weekend), I will officially be a Startup Weekend whore. This designation is a particularly exciting because my compulsion with Startup Weekend has enabled to me to meet some amazing people, work on some amazing projects, and taken me to some places I’ve never been.

Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event where entrepreneurs, techies, developers, designers, etc come together and start companies during this weekend. People pitch their ideas, participants vote on their favorite pitches and gravitate to whatever business concept that tickles their fancy. Ideas like ShoutNow, TweetReporters, and Startup Junkyard.

I am super stoked about KCSW because good friends I have met from all across the country are meeting at the Startup Weekend to rock it out! From Kansas City: Dan Melton, Steven Chau, and Darby Frey; from Indy: Josh (Mr. Pivot), Andy Gouty, Brian Conradt, and Graham Peck; from Raleigh: Scotty B, and Ryan (aka Miss Pivot).

Kansas City Startup Weekend is being oraganized & facilitated by Dan Melton, Steven Chau, and Darby Frey. We all met at the Indianapolis Startup Weekend back in December of 2008. It’s being held at the Entrepreneurial Center of Johnson County in Kansas City. Tickets are $40 and slots are filling fast!

I will be posting videos here next weekend during the weekend! :)
